Hue University Hospital
Neonatal Equipment for Training and Treatment
Hue University Hospital was established in 2002 to serve patients in Thua Thien Hue and surrounding provinces. The hospital’s management and staff have built its reputation as a leading specialized tertiary referral hospital ad training center for Central Viet Nam. The number of patients are growing steadily, including neonatal patients. Yet, the department of pediatrics with its 20 neonatal patient beds is unable to meet the needs of this young population. The department is in critical need of more neonatal equipment.
This grant would provide four CPAP, four phototherapy units and four infant warmers to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of Hue University Hospital’s pediatric department. The equipment would accommodate growing demands and enhance the overall quality of care of neonatal patients, and contribute to reduction of infant morbidity and mortality in Thua Thien Hue province and Central Vietnam in the long-term.
