Hue Central Hospital
Basic Neonatal Equipment for Training and Treatment
Hue Central Hospital (HCH), founded in 1894, is a top-tiered specialized tertiary referral hospital and training center for Central Vietnam. However, the hospital does not have sufficient neonatal equipment to adequately take care of the increasing number of neonatal patients nor provide training to healthcare workers in nearby provinces. In order to improve neonatal care quality, enhance care capacity at the hospital and enhance access to services for the population of Thua Thien Hue province and surrounding areas, the hospital is in critical need of more neonatal equipment.
This grant would provide three CPAP and two phototherapy units to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of HCH’s pediatric department to accommodate growing demands and enhance the overall quality of care of neonatal patients and contribute to reduction of infant morbidity and mortality in Thua Thien Hue province and Central Vietnam.
